Founder and Managing Partner

As founder and managing partner of JJH & Co., James began his real estate career in 2000 as a real estate broker in New York City where he focused on rentals for two years while attending New York University. During this time he launched a rental website that would match foreign workers in need of apartments on short term leases. His wide range of real estate experience also includes the repositioning of a 43-room hotel in Manhattan with two ground floor commercial spaces, the sourcing and execution of a 6000-SF warehouse conversion to retail space in Brooklyn, NY and the closing of an approval to build 130 unit condo/mixed-use development through variance negotiations with local municipals outside of Philadelphia.

John Du has been a real estate investor and manager since 2002. Shortly after earning a Bachelor’s degree from New York University in 2001, John joined his family business which owns and operates a 43-room hotel in midtown Manhattan. The hotel also includes two commercial spaces, where he captured the full potential of its prime location by replacing poorly performing tenants with reputable long term commercial tenants.  Through his leadership and efficient management, the hotel has increased its revenue year over year. From 2005 to 2015, John individually acquired multiple luxury apartments including one on Billionaire’s Row located on West 57th streets as part of his investment portfolio.  In 2013, John ventured into Brooklyn and invested in a 6,000-SF warehouse in the Bushwick area on the cusp of its famed popularity and gentrification.  The warehouse has been renovated for retail use and will potentially be extended to three additional floors for mixed use.  John holds a New York State Real Estate Broker license and proudly serves on the board of his condominium residence in Union Square.  He is currently working on a ground-up condo project in the Bronx and overseeing a gut renovation of the midtown hotel.
